Betadine belongs to a group of medicines called antiseptics and disinfectants. It is an antiseptic in the form of a cutaneous foam. Therapeutic indications: - Disinfection and hygiene of the skin and mucous membranes. - Adjuvant in the treatment or prophylaxis of infection in interdigital mycoses (e.g., athlete's foot). - Adjuvant in the treatment of infection in seborrheic dermatitis. - Prophylaxis of seborrheic dermatitis. - Leg ulcers: adjuvant therapy as a disinfectant. In surgery: - Hand washing before and after surgical procedures, as a bactericidal product. - As a liquid soap for use in the office. - For cleaning and local asepsis of the patient before surgical procedures.
In obstetrics and gynecology: - Gynecological asepsis. - Disinfection of the vulva, perineum and inner thighs before childbirth.
